    1. Another amazing read by Marlayna Glynn Brown I highly recommend this book to anyone who is dealing with the death of a loved one, especially if you have unresolved issues related to this loss My mother took her own life when I was a child, and her sister did the same many years later I cannot express how moved I was by the journey Marlayna shared with her readers after her father s death I did not want to put this book down, so I read until I fell asleep I then had wonderful visits from my aunt [...]

    2. Rest In Places My Father s Post Life Journey Around The World by author memoirist Marlayna Glynn Brown is her heartfelt deeply moving account of her relationship with her dying alcoholic father, the acceptance of the harshness and unfairness of his memory and legacy, as she found peace acceptance within from forgiveness Consequently she was compassionate of others, and became a wiser mother for her adult children. In traveling to Las Vegas, NV she meets with her 83 year old father s caregivers, [...]

    3. I was a little nervous about reading this book Not a huge fan of tear jerkers I was really glad I did read it though It is hard to write a review on a book that makes you reflect on your life as much as the book In the end it was a beautiful read This is the perfect read for anyone who is struggling with the loss of a loved one It definitely makes you stop and think about those relationships and connections you have with those you love This is one of those reads that stays with you long after yo [...]

    4. I liked this book very much and will probably go back and read the earlier memoirs as well Ms Brown writes vividly and honestly I m grappling with how some of her insights apply in my life, and I m grateful for her willingness to share her journey I would recommend this book to anyone moving toward freeing herself himself from a painful and limiting past and also to anyone who wants to know about modern day experiences of US citizens touring in Central American countries.

    5. riveting Like all of Ms Brown s work, my attention was caught from the first page This book had a lot of deep insights, clear descriptions, and not a lot of repeating from her previous works.

    6. I am so glad I stuck with this memoir About 50% of the way though I was thinking, This is interesting, instead of growth this memoirist is regressing Then about 75% of the way through I had had just about enough of the author s whiny alcoholism, but she is a good writer so I kept reading Excellent payoff.

    7. Great readShe described places I can see in my mind Her journey and revelations are true to life I will search for her other writings.

    8. I enjoyed Marlyana s previously three memoirs , but was still moved by her ability and willingness to forgive her father in this one

    9. Robbie s Review 4.5 StarsMarlayna Glynn Brown s latest memoir Rest in Places is just as described in the title a journey she takes with her father after his death, distributing his ashes as she travels There are detailed descriptions of the places she visits and the people she encounters, yet the book is much than a travelogue Readers will find both joy and sadness in the pages as the author recounts her journey which begins as she sits with her dying father at his bedside. Now I say goodbye to [...]

    10. This book was, for me, a satisfying cap off to the Trilogy memoir I skipped over the Invitations book, which I plan to read Being a metaphysician myself it really spoke to me and I felt so rewarded and thankful for the growth attained through hard work, self introspection and risk taking I particularly liked the description of the ritual of ashes scattering My father is 93, and I know from astrological transits that he may pass in the next few years aside from his advanced age I feel it has prep [...]

    11. good but too graphic The journey of making peace with her father and other family members is what kept me reading until the end I could have done with less of the details of the sexual escapades and extreme drinking.
