    1. I love kick ass police detectives especially when they re women This book contains a superior specimen of the breed In addition, there are a host of wonderful characters in this story supporting and enhancing the primary focus of the lead detectives on a really grisly murder investigation However, it is a serendipitous meeting of a currently suspended detective and her home improvement contractor that sets the scene for love and terror I most certainly recommend the satisfying battling of wits b [...]

    2. I received this book from NetGalley in return for it s review Homicide detective Kay Griffith never had a problem when it came to controlling her temper Tommy Rayne, a murder suspect was the one who finally pushed her over the edge , resulting in her being suspended for assault Kay decides to use this time to get work done on her house, however she doesn t have a clue that Mr Rayne is stalking her and he is determined to get revenge Brenda Jansen is joint owner of a Construction business with he [...]

    3. Kay Griffith and Brenda Jansen are well developed characters, the sexual tension between them is good, but this story drags a bit, which makes you lose interest in the couple The mystery was not enough to keep me connected to the plot because, let s face it everything was predictable I don t know if the author is familiar with police work, but if she is, I couldn t feel it in her writing.I finished this book on Saturday, started reading another f f book the next day and now barely remember what [...]

    4. Strong women big heartsThis was great I am becoming a big fan of this author s This the second book of hers I have read I love how she has strong women who show their weaknesses I like the storyline of this book had me at page one.

    5. Well, I don t know, this book is like a mediocre fanfiction and didn t suck me in at all The story floats along and the main characters didn t really have great chemistry.

    6. Good point well madeThis is the first book I have read by PJ Trebelhorn, and for a easy read crime fiction novel it comes together very well Brenda has come to realise that the first night of really hot sex does not a lasting relationship make The author gets across that sometimes sex just get in the way of truly getting to know someone And the chance of a loving long term relationship In a world where living in the moment and self restraint are seen as a conflict of interest, is what gives this [...]

    7. I am trying to find the best way to review this book without giving away any spoilers So if anything I say is a bit vague it s because I don t want to give away too much To put it into just one line I liked this book, kept me interested throughout, pace picked up at just the right time just the right level of romance mixed in with crime drama I instantly liked the character of Kay, and I found her relationship with Brenda to be believable It took a while for the pace of the book to pick up, but [...]

    8. I requested this book on NetGalley and honestly chose to read it as a sort of desperate measure I can t find enough LGBT fiction out there, much less lesbian detective stories Unfortunately, Desperate Measures wasn t quite what I was hoping for The characters felt a bit flat, and while it s a weird thing to be picky about, there wasn t enough mystery for me You got scenes from both the point of view of the victim and the murderer, which can sometimes be a really interesting contrast, but in this [...]

    9. Desperate Measures is a delightful mystery to read The characters and plot are well developed Homicide detective Kay Griffith gets suspended for getting rough with a murder suspect Kay decides to do some work on her house and meets Brenda Jansen.Kay isn t very trusting, but Brenda and Kay get closer as the book moves on The murder suspect Kay had gotten suspended for is now after Kay and everything she values I can not wait to read from this wonderful author.

    10. I really enjoyed the story and the characters, Kay and Brenda are good together and I somehow feel like there s to this tale Time will tell

    11. Although the story drags a little, I like both main characters, especially Kay Her passion for her work is contagious as well as her dogged pursue of the bad guy and the girl.
