    1. 4.5 stars What a delightful little gem This title popped up on my newsfeed a couple of weeks ago and I am so glad that it did.I hope my analogy makes sense this book is like a little hole in the wall restaurant you end up stumbling upon by accident and it ends up being soooo good that in the end you don t know if you should tell people about it or keep it all to yourself because you want it to remain your own perfect little sanctuary I guess in this case, I am going to share because this book is [...]

    2. A brilliantly crafty tale about love, treachery, underworld which will take you on a roller coaster ride from Paris to London The Paris Game by Alyssa Linn Palmer is a thoroughly gripping and brain rackingly thrilling tale about Sera and Marc.A huge thanks to the author, Alyssa Linn Palmer, for providing me with a copy of her book, in return for an honest review.Sera, a jazz singer, land herself on trouble, when she had to pay off a debt to a very bad gangster Seeing the situation, Marc, having [...]

    3. Smart, sexy noir that will distract you from whatever you re supposed to be doing The characters, particularly Marc and Sera, are perfectly imperfect The sense of place is incredible I half expected to look up and find myself in Paris or London Brava, Ms Palmer.

    4. A smart, gritty, atmospheric novel in the Noir tradition Paris jazz club singer Sera Durand, is drawn into a hopeless situation when she tries to pay off a debt to a gangster using any and every means possible Throw in, Marc, a knight in rusty armor with a morally questionable agenda of his own, a innocent corrupt dichotomy of supporting characters, and a debauched wager both Sera and Marc are determined to win, and the situation spirals deliciously out of control. The Paris Game embodies all the [...]

    5. Marc and Sera are gritty They are flawed Morally flawed Emotionally flawed And yet, Palmer tells their tale in a way that makes you care about them and want to find out if they can overcome their pasts and their history together Life doesn t get much rougher than the horror Sera is living and Marc s shady business dealings have put him and Sera in mortal danger Add to all that a wager neither of them really wants Marc to win and life can t bet much complicated Can Marc and Sera overcome so much [...]

    6. One of the things I loved about The Paris Game was its ability to make me feel as if I were there as I imagined, in my mind, Paris in the 30 s Ms Palmer set the stage so well The story provides the reader with great characters, lots of sexual tension and suspense We learn about Sera and Marc s past together and follow their story through Marc s questionable business dealings and Sera s problems with her unsavory boss and a somewhat nasty affair There s also some matchmaking and an interesting wa [...]

    8. I got a free ebook copy of this book from the author I m a very big fan of noir although I don t get to read as much as I d like. The book was good but it wasn t exceptional it was short and easy felt like the sex was too much and was being used to fill in space. The characters weren t very developed The dangerous underworld feel didn t really hold it was too easy and soft for a noir I also think that they end was to fast and easy it ended too abruptly for me.

    9. Usually I devour these types of books in one sitting, but it took me a week or so to get through this one I didn t feel like the characters were very developed, in fact all of the people in the book are pretty terrible human beings I didn t buy the dangerous underworld and I didn t really care about any of the characters So so in my opinion.

    10. I haven t read a book in years and I couldn t put this one down, totally hooked from chapter one Well developed, flawed characters swept me away to another place Well done and thank you Ms Palmer I can t wait for the next novel

    11. 3.5This was a fun read The author is very good at writing about romantic entanglements and liaisons I think a little less romance and a focus on the art heist would have made for a well rounded story.

    12. This book did exactly what I love in a great story it took me away to another world Extra high rating because it was outside my normal genre and I gobbled it up despite my hectic schedule Loved it

    13. Not a noir, not crime fiction Gratuitous sex scenes in nearly every chapter, if you like that sort of thing Plot failed to grab my attention Abandoned.

    14. Meh.is was too slow for my liking or maybe I just wasnt in the mood who knows I may come back to it at a later date.
